For over 12 years, Know Your Rights Group has been helping Australians understand their legal rights — in plain English, without the jargon, and without the cost of a lawyer.
The platform that started with a question
Know Your Rights Group was founded by Mike Palmer after he saw first-hand how many Australians faced legal and administrative situations without knowing their basic rights. From fines and banking disputes to employment issues and consumer guarantees, the same pattern repeated: people didn't know where to start, what questions to ask, or what options were available.
What began as a small educational resource has grown into a platform trusted by over 10,000 community members, offering free guides, a weekly podcast, paid courses and a dedicated community space where Australians share experiences and support each other.
Our approach is simple: provide clear, practical information so people can make informed decisions. We don't give legal advice. We give people the confidence to ask better questions, understand their position, and take the next step.
